You’re casting spells without even noticing it.
There, I said it. Let me spell this for you.
Did you know that every word you speak is a spell? No, I’m not talking about witchy hats and cauldrons (though that’s pretty cool too). I’m talking about the everyday magic of our words: how they shape our reality, influence our emotions, and either liberate or limit us.
Spells are words packed with emotion, spoken with intention. Every time you say something, it’s like sending a little seed out into the world, fertilized by the energy of your heart and released through your throat chakra. Those seeds? They grow. So the question is: what are you growing?
And that, I’ll tell you, it’s based on my own experience, as lately I’ve been reflecting on bunch of ups and downs and realizing now the power of my own words.
Are your words uplifting or binding?
The words we speak can either set us free or keep us chained. When we say things like, “I can’t do this,” “I’m not good enough,” or “I’ll never succeed,” “oh dumb me, I’m so stupid!”, we’re not just voicing doubts, we’re casting spells that reinforce those beliefs. Why would we say such thing?
Have you noticed how your heart shrinks right after, because you know in your heart what you just said it’s not true to yourself? Also, think of how we don’t say such things to the people we love even when they’re struggling. So when we do that self-talk, we’re locking ourselves into a narrative that doesn’t serve our highest good - linking us up with created scenarios that mirrors back what we are telling ourselves. And that just keeps on dragging.
Heavy, isn’t? Ok I feel like we should take a deep breath here.
In…and out.
Ok, but the opposite can also happen! When we say, “I am capable,” “I deserve joy,” “I am enough,” or “I might not know it all but I know I can figure it out,” we’re casting spells that uplift and empower us! Let there be light! These words plant seeds of growth, resilience, and self-love. Even on the tough days, when things feel heavy and messy, we have the power to choose how we respond. These moments don’t define us, our responses do.
The magic in awareness
The magic lies in paying attention. Pause for a moment and think about the spells you’ve been casting lately. Are they lighting your path or keeping you in the dark?
Here’s a simple practice:
Listen to Yourself. Notice the words you use, especially when you’re emotional.
Rewrite the Spell. Replace limiting phrases with ones that open possibilities. For every shitty thing you say to yourself, can you say something kind?
Speak with Intention. Infuse your words with love, hope, and truth.
If you notice that what you’re saying to the universe is not something you would say to a friend, this is your sign to pause and reframe. Again with total transparency: this is something I learnt just couple months ago after unpacking some heavy baggage that I thought I was over it. Knowing this doesn’t mean I won’t fall for it again, but for sure I won’t stay there for too long. Got other places to be.
Words as a bridge to your truth
Your words are powerful because they connect your inner world to the outer, as above so below. They manifest your wishes to the world, your wants and beliefs. They carry the energy of your heart and project it into reality. So let’s use them wisely. Speak with intention. Say what you mean, from your heart. Cast spells that align with your truth. Don’t say yes when you mean no. You are the magician of your own life.
I hope this helps if you find yourself spelling bad juju.
Ah, if you need some inspiration for reframing your words, check out the work of Louise Hay. She has bunch of resources on this topic.
With love,

PS: It’s important to remember that we’re human, navigating a journey of unlearning centuries of beliefs that weren’t ours to carry. Giving ourselves grace and compassion doesn’t mean ignoring our responsibility; it means acknowledging that while we strive to act with intention, we are also learning and growing. And that, in itself, is powerful. If you’re ready to see what beliefs are holding you back, book an Akashic Records reading with me.
